I’ve gotten so many requests to talk about my current workout routine so I wanted to do a full blog post for you guys. My routine has certainly changed since my ‘bodybuilding’ days!
I’ve also been working on giving my body more grace in regards to needing to do a high-impact activity each and every day. What I love about being active is doing a favorite class with a friend, lifting with my fiancé, trying out new workouts through ClassPass and also WALKING!! I love that being active can be social, fun, and not a CHORE. This past week I worked out 5 times (some weeks it’s 3-4 times) and was glad I had the new Secret Active formula in my bag! This past week my workout routine looked like this (varies week to week – I may take 2-3 rest days or add in a walk or try a different class like Barre or Pilates Reformer or P90X but similar set-up!):
Monday: Body Combat class with a girlfriend
Tuesday: Body Pump
Wednesday: Leg day with my fiancé at the gym
Thursday: Boot camp class through ClassPass that involved intervals, strength, and bursts of cardio (I’ve done the class before and love that it incorporates weights, body weight, and HIIT style training)
Friday: Rest/walk outside in the sunshine!
Saturday: 30 minute HIIT cycle class at the gym
Sunday: Rest
So while I have gotten bored of a regular ‘lifting’ routine these days, I still love to sweat and feel SO much more productive when I at least move my body, even if it is just a walk. Walking can be SO powerful. I don’t run because I just don’t love it and I know it’s not right for my body.
